Shuffling consists of cutting the deck for a number of times, making sure that the cards are fully mixed up. After the shuffle, the dealer gets the two top cards and place it on a box where 'discarded cards' go. Discarded or 'burned' cards are cards that are removed from play at the start of every game. They obviously pile up as the game progresses.

Another move at the cards, which every serious Blackjack player must know is the placing of the plastic card. The plastic card signals the end of the current hand. Once the dealer reaches the plastic card, he will be compelled to finish the current hand and reshuffle the cards to continue the game.

The movement of the cards is important in Blackjack. It ensures the randomness of the game while making it pretty exciting in the process. In online Blackjack, shuffling the cards is a far easier task for the virtual dealer as it happens electronically with no human intervention involved.
